Turkey and Avocado Wrap with Mixed Greens



Ingredients:

  • 2 whole wheat tortillas

  • 4 oz of turkey breast

  • 1 avocado

  • 2 cups of mixed greens

  • 2 tbsp of hummus **

  • Salt and pepper

  • 1 tbsp of olive oil

Step by Step Guide:

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tbsp of olive oil.

  2. Season turkey breast with salt and pepper and add it to the skillet. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.

  3. Remove from skillet and let it cool for a few minutes.

  4. Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit and mash it in a bowl.

  5. Spread hummus over the whole wheat tortillas.

  6. Place the mixed greens on top of the hummus.

  7. Slice the turkey breast and add it on top of the mixed greens.

  8. Spread mashed avocado on top of the turkey.

  9. Roll the tortilla tightly and cut it in half.

** you may sub out the hummus if you do not enjoy it for the following

  1. Pesto: A flavorful sauce made from basil, pine nuts, parmesan cheese, and olive oil. It can be used as a spread for sandwiches or mixed with pasta.

  2. Tzatziki: A Greek yogurt-based dip made from yogurt, cucumber, garlic, and dill. It can be used as a spread for sandwiches or as a dip for vegetables.

  3. Baba ghanoush: A Middle Eastern eggplant-based dip made from roasted eggplant, tahini, garlic, and lemon juice.

  4. Salsa: A spicy tomato-based dip that can be used as a spread for sandwiches or as a dip for chips.

Macronutrient/ Calorie amount: may be skewed a tad if you sub out the hummus.
