Setting Fitness goals are an essential part of your physical development. They allow individuals to clarify their priorities, focus their efforts, and measure their progress. Without goals, it is easy to become distracted and lose sight of what is most important.
One of the key benefits of setting fitness goals is that they help to motivate and inspire individuals to take action. They will give you a sense of purpose and direction, and provide a clear roadmap for achieving your desired outcomes. Goals can also help to increase accountability and self-discipline, as individuals are more likely to follow through on their commitments when they have a specific target in mind.
In addition to health related goals, it is also important to set goals in other areas of life, such as relationships, and personal growth (all things I make sure to incorporate with all of my clients). By setting and working towards meaningful goals, individuals can create a sense of balance and fulfillment in all areas of their life.
How can you start SMART
Specific: Your goals should be clear and well-defined, with a specific target or outcome in mind.
Measurable: Your goals should be measurable, so that you can track your progress and know when you've achieved your goal.
Attainable: Your goals should be attainable and realistic, given your current resources and circumstances.
Relevant: Your goals should be relevant and aligned with your values and long-term vision.
Time-bound: It's important to give yourself a timeline for achieving your goals, so that you can stay focused and motivated.
EXAMPLE GOAL SET-UP
Specific: I will lose 15lbs of fat
Measurable: I will make sure I use a bodyweight scale, skin calipers, tape meausure and Bia to measure my goals. (you don't have to do all three obviously lol one should suffice)
Attainable: my Goal is attainable within my chosen time frame and I can reach this goal with the gym I have at my disposal.
Relevant: my goal is in direct alignment with what I want out of my future self
Time-bound: I will give myself 9 weeks to attain this goal.
